Leveraging the Celtic Origins of Enneagram to Find Your Treasures!
The Enneagram comes from ancient Celtic Anatolia (Asia Minor) where many modern sciences first developed. It is highly likely that much of the philosophy and spirituality that underpins the Enneagram was originally developed by Celtic civilizations. Even Gurdjieff, the man who brought the Enneagram into Western awareness, was himself likely a Celt, having been born and raised in what is now eastern Turkey.
The ancient Celtic peoples had an art and a science of working together. They followed a lifestyle and philosophy organized around many of the central principles that the Enneagram is based on: identifying our innate Gifts, using those gifts to the benefit of humanity, and an underlying sense of oneness with all of creation. They regularly engaged in practices to listen better to the Earth and to each other. The result was a far-reaching civilization that was able to navigate global crises with skill and cooperation (including at least two incidents of dramatic climate change that provoked mass migrations across the globe).
Join us as Robert Driver-Bishop leads us through a fascinating exploration of a group of people whom many of us in the Western world are descended from in one way or another. Learn what lessons the Celts have to teach us on how to cooperate and navigate global crises, and how what they believed eventually made its way into the modern Enneagram. This workshop will include a centering practice and an exercise in addition to the lecture.
About Robert:
Rev. Dr. Robert (Bob) Driver-Bishop’s extensive post-doctoral studies integrate modern sciences (archeology, spiritual anthropology, ancient histories, psychology, DNA analysis) to help us shed light on meaningful ways we can live better lives. In addition to extensive teaching in academia, Bob has spent many decades leading hundreds of workshops for groups seeking transformation (which means developing strength together from our greatest challenges). His Biblical and historical group studies for Fortress Academic Press have received numerous awards of excellence.
