Join us for this evening event spotlighting one of our own local Enneagram teachers: Joan Ryan of Watertown, MA! Joan’s original work combines The Enneagram with the Internal Family Systems Therapy Model. Using IFS techniques and theory provides a new and practical method for individuals to work with their Enneagram type structures at depth. Joan, together with her collaborator Tammy Sollenberger, have been testing their hypothesis for this work since 2019 with numerous individuals and groups, and their knowledge of the possibilities of the intersection is ever deepening.
Each Enneagram Type pattern in an individual will appear as a constellation of (IFS-defined) Parts, Managers, Firefighters and Exiles. These Parts are, in effect, holding the Type structure together. There will also likely be Parts associated with connected type patterns, and, to a lesser extent, wing types. Individuals will, of course, also have different Parts generated by the uniqueness of that person and their experiences. Joan and Tammy’s work has been presented at the IEA Conference in 2023, and the IFS Annual Conferences in 2021 and 2023, and is published in Altogether Us: Integrating IFS with Key Modalities, Communities and Trends, Pivotal Press, 2023.
About Joan
Joan Ryan has been teaching the Enneagram since 1996 in a wide variety of settings worldwide. A Senior Leadership Coach, she integrates both models into all her work. She co-created Enneagram Thailand (now in its 21st year), and was the Program Manager for The Narrative Enneagram School in the early 2000s. This work is a collaboration with Tammy Sollenberger, a Certified IFS Practitioner who hosts a widely acclaimed Podcast "The One Inside: Using IFS."
